Are we getting a generic Shopify template?
No. We start from our Shopify framework for classifieds and build it out with your brand, your categories, your ad packages and the pages local buyers and sellers need.
How long before sellers can post?
Plan on 7-10 days once we have your logo, categories and pricing for ad packages. If you're working against a date, rush jobs are on the table depending on our bandwidth.
Can buyers pay sellers through the site?
The theme takes payment for ads through Shopify checkout. Letting buyers pay sellers directly turns the board into a marketplace, which needs a marketplace app from the Shopify app store and can be scoped as a custom project.
How do we keep scam posts off the board?
New ads sit in a review queue until you approve them, every ad has a report button and paid posting filters out a lot of throwaway accounts on its own. Your Shopify plan and any paid apps are billed by Shopify and the app makers, separate from the $999.
Those few dollars per ad change who shows up to post, so the rest of the theme makes sure the sellers who pay get real eyes on what they're selling.
Selling ad space like a product
A single 30-day ad, a featured bump to the top of a category and a bulk pack for dealers all live in Shopify as products with their own prices. Sellers pick one, pay through Shopify checkout and fill out the posting form for their item. Every sale lands in your Shopify orders, so you can see at a glance which packages earn their keep.
Browsing that stays close to home
Buyers start with categories sorted by town with the newest ads on top, then open an ad to see the photos, price, condition and a contact form. That form keeps email addresses private until the seller answers, which lowers the odds of anyone's inbox filling up with junk. Featured ads carry a badge and sit above the rest of their category.
A board you can keep clean
Foxco sets up a review queue so nothing goes live until you approve it, with a report button on every ad and posting rules sellers agree to before they pay. Once you know your regulars you can loosen the reins a bit. Automatic ad expiry, seller ratings and buyer-to-seller payments can each come later as custom projects.
