If you've been running a WooCommerce store for any length of time, you've probably noticed the Uncategorized category quietly accumulating products that were imported, migrated, or just never properly assigned.

It's one of those things that sits in the background looking harmless until you realize it's showing up in your storefront navigation or muddying your category-based filters. Cleaning it up one product at a time is tedious, and most store managers don't even realize there's a faster way.

The Foxco Remove Uncategorized plugin adds a single, focused option to the WooCommerce products bulk action menu: remove the Uncategorized category from everything you've selected at once.

Select your products, choose the action, and it's done.

The plugin also includes a small safeguard — if a product has no other category assigned, it gets skipped rather than left in a broken state. WooCommerce expects every product to have at least one category, so the plugin respects that and lets you know how many products were updated versus passed over. It's a lightweight tool with one job, and that's the point.

No settings page, no configuration, no bloat. Install it, run the bulk action when you need it, and move on. For stores doing large imports or anyone inheriting a messy product catalog, it saves a meaningful amount of time and keeps your category taxonomy clean without any manual legwork.
