Can it be ready before filing season?
We typically need 7-10 days after receiving your logo, photos and price list, so aim for early January at the latest. Rush jobs are possible when our bandwidth allows.
Can the deposit be applied to the final fee?
Yes. We set up the deposit as its own product and your team subtracts it when the return is done, or a booking app that supports partial payments can handle it. Booking apps and the Shopify plan carry their own fees on top of the $999.
Can I sell gift cards for tax prep?
Shopify gift cards work out of the box, which makes a nice holiday option for parents covering a college kid's first return. We set them up during the build.
Empty chairs in peak season cost more than any slow week in summer. A deposit at booking changes how seriously people treat the appointment and the store is set up to make paying it feel routine.
Return types with prices attached
Wage-earner returns, self-employed returns, rental properties and amended returns each sit as variants with a starting price, so a client knows roughly what to expect before they arrive. Add-ons like a state return or an extension filing can go in the cart too, which trims the conversation at the desk.
Deposits that hold the slot
Clients pick a time through a Shopify booking app and pay a deposit that comes off the final bill. Foxco writes the confirmation so it repeats the appointment time, the address and the deposit policy, which cuts down on the Friday-night cancellation text and the empty chair that follows it.
Checklists by situation
Each return type links to its own document list: W-2s and 1099s for one, mileage logs and expense totals for another and closing statements for a rental purchase. People who see the list before they book tend to show up with a complete folder, which keeps your appointments on schedule all afternoon.
