Foxco builds a custom canoe rental Shopify theme that gets that gear and everything else online, with trip pages for each route that lead into reservations through a Shopify booking app, shuttle tickets sold as their own product, a gear collection for dry bags, paddles and sun shirts and gift cards for the outdoorsy cousin who already owns a hammock. Big groups can hold the Saturday float with a deposit. Yes. An announcement bar across the top of the store is built in and you can change it from the Shopify admin in a minute when the water comes up. Live gauge feeds can be added as a custom project.
The phone at the bottom of the river is a running joke at every livery, though the dry bag display shows how much people will buy when it's right in front of them. The theme puts that display in front of them a week before they show up, along with everything else you rent or sell.
Trips that lead to a reservation
Each route gets a page with distance, float time, difficulty and the best photo you have of that stretch of water. The reserve button opens a booking app from the Shopify app store set to that trip, so a family picks a date and boat type without calling. Canoes, kayaks and paddleboards can each have their own pricing.
Shuttle tickets and group deposits
Private boaters who bring their own kayak still need a ride back to the car, so shuttle tickets sell as a separate product with time slots or a simple date choice. Church groups, scout troops and bachelor parties can hold a block of boats with a deposit at Shopify checkout, which beats a handshake over the phone.
Gear that sells before the put-in
Foxco sets up a small collection for dry bags, phone pouches, sun shirts, hats and koozies, all available for local pickup at check-in. A camper who adds a dry bag to the order on Thursday is a camper who doesn't lose their phone on Saturday; your shop sells it at full price.
