WordPress: “Publishing failed. Could not update post in the database”
A client had this very strange issue, they thought it was a resources issue since their Hostinger account was telling them that they were nearly out of resources. After spending an hour checking all the major things I looked at the draft post in question and saw that it was full of… emojis. Now why wouldn’t WordPress want you to insert emojis into a post? Their native editor is called Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press, surely they don’t have such a bizarre requirement. Nope, it’s the emojis. Remove the emojis and it will publish.
CSS: Flickering Lightbulb Effect
I’m an old timey guy who likes old timey things. I’m a sucker for an old diner or dive bar where the sign flickers and then stays bright, showing that it’s trying and ultimately, succeeding. It reminds me of Early Times whiskey, and how it doesn’t taste like the future, it tastes like the past. But that’s another story. You might want to add this effect somewhere on your website, it’s fairly easy. Either add this to your stylesheet or Blocks / Elementor / Gutenberg as a CSS class. For some reason this plugin doesn’t exist, and I have no idea why. You’ve probably seen spam users sign up day after day, you get the email alerts but figure you’ll sort it out later. But you never get to it. Suddenly you have thousands of spam users. I let a client’s site (they sell very expensive items) go a long time without adding any kind of sign up security, the thinking being that rich people are not good at the internet, and better to let some spammers come through than to block their feeble attempts at making contact. While the broader battery market may slow due to longer-lasting lithium tech, marine batteries are on a different trajectory, drawing sharp investor and industry focus. What’s Driving the Growth? Javascript Age Gate For Shopify (21+, 18+)
A Foxco client has a Shopify store with too many apps which slows the site down (and of course they all cost some amount of money each month). Because it’s an alcohol delivery and gift site by law shoppers must be over 21 years old or older. Hey check out the site if you like top shelf whiskey, rum, gin, bourbon, wine, tequila etc it’s called Sipsy.com 🙂 Many other sites require you to be 18+ for a variety of reasons. Anyhow, below is the javascript code with instructions on how to add it to your Shopify store. I’ve highlighted the areas in yellow that you might want to change. If you like this js please consider using Foxco.net as your redirect URL (too many people use Disney.com and they don’t really deserve all those backlinks IMO).
